Micro Vickers hardness Tester has several
applications.
1.Finished components (thin sheets, fine wires, etc.) Watch parts
like Springs, Pivot bearings, Gears, Cutting edge of Razor blades,
Drills, File teeth, etc, Metallic foils, Surgical needles, Pen points
and so on.
2. Study of surface coatings like electroplated coatings, extremely
thin case hardened parts, anodised castings of alluminium, shot
blasted or rolled faces.
3. Heat treatment effects like Tempering of steel, Hardness of visible
precipitated particles, hardness of austenitic and martensitic areas,
homogenization treatment.
4. Alloy constitutional problem, (Micro indentation tests in study
of equilibrium diagram), mutually soluble / insoluble materials,
hardness of complex carbides, hardness of components of microstructure.
